Encourage North Carolinians to Apply for Federal EITC
Federal Earned Income Tax Credit Lifts Millions Out of Poverty; A State EITC Would Help Working Families Build Wealth and Gain Economic Security

What: News Conference to inform North Carolinians about the Federal Earned Income Tax Credit and let them know where they can get free tax preparation services to help them determine if they qualify for the federal EITC.
In addition, policymakers and leaders of several state organizations will join together to promote passage of a state EITC, which will improve tax fairness and help more than 800,000 low- and moderate-income North Carolinians build wealth and gain economic security.
