  Richard Moore said Wednesday that he is confi­dent he has the knowledge and experience to be an effective governor of North Carolina.
  Moore, 46, officially filed to run for governor Tuesday. The Oxford native stopped by the Granville seat and Henderson on Wednesday to speak with the Oxford Women’s Club — which has at least two of his former schoolteachers and “lots of ladies I’ve known my whole life” — and with local reporters.
  Moore, who owns property straddling the Vance-Granville border, has had a home west of Kittrell for nearly 20 years. His three children are schooled in Raleigh, where the family has a house, but Moore said Kittrell “is home every night I can steal away and every weekend.”
  “It’s been a long time since somebody from this part of the state had a real shot at be­ing governor, and I’m proud of that,” he added. (more…)
