Sentenced improperly, man seeks pardon from governor

Dedric D. McDaniel lost four years of freedom when he was wrongfully sentenced and sent to prison as a habitual offender.

The North Carolina Court of Appeals ruled that McDaniel should not have been classified and sentenced as a habitual felon, and now the New Bern man is asking the Governor's Office of Executive Clemency for a pardon. (more…)
