North Carolina needs the Local Jobs For America Act
As of January 2010, there were more than five unemployed workers per job opening nationally. In order to get Americans back to work, Rep. George Miller (D-CA) has introduced the Local Jobs for America Act, which would authorize $100 billion over three years to preserve jobs in state and local government and create jobs in the public and nonprofit sectors to meet essential community needs. The money shuffles begins again
The latest round of state campaign finance reports are in and the usual speculation about the money race has begun. Senate President Pro Tem Marc Basnight raised just over $500,000 in the first quarter of 2010 and now has $725,000 in the bank, far more than other state politician.
