UNC System President Tom Ross discusses state budget cuts and rising tuition rates

The UNC Board of Governors votes on tuition proposals Feb. 10th  at which time students and families will likely be asked to pay an average of 8.8 percent more next year. The system suffered a cut in state funding of 15.6 percent, or $414 million, last year and some administrators feel the campuses’ needs might only be met through tuition increases.

UNC System President Tom Ross joins us on News & Views this week to discuss the challenges of finding efficiencies, making deeper cuts, and asking students to pay more for higher education.
