Some cheer lottery win, others lament loss

As news filtered to Fayetteville that the state legislature had approved a lottery, local convenience stores prepared to sell tickets while pastors prepared to warn their congregations against gambling. Across the state’s southern border, some North Carolinians cheered. (more…)
