SBI’s DNA lab beefed up

RALEIGH - "This is a pretty good slam dunk," said Jennifer Elwell.
Elwell, a forensic biologist at the State Bureau of Investigation’s crime lab in Raleigh, has just pulled up DNA profiles of a murder victim and suspect on her computer. The DNA profile of the victim doesn’t match that taken from evidence found on a window seal at the victim’s house. Nor does it match the DNA taken from a gun linked to the homicide.
However, the profile exactly matches that of the suspect’s DNA.(more…)
