N.C. Democrats agree to pay penalty

Raleigh | North Carolina’s Democratic Party has agreed to pay a $3,500 penalty for failing to report daily expenditures in the days leading up to the 2004 presidential election.
The Federal Elections Commission questioned almost $60,000 the party spent on behalf of Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry and his running mate, former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards. (more…)
