Donor records don’t match his election reports

Raleigh | Since his campaign was formed in 1992, state Rep. Thomas Wright has not reported receiving 273 donations totaling $119,607 that political committees have said they sent to him, according to a Star-News analysis of disclosure reports.
The review of the N.C. State Board of Elections database of contributions shows that political committees have reported sending $311,594 to the New Hanover County Democrat’s campaign. Wright reported $183,753 of those contributions. For some $8,234, both Wright and the committees reported contributions, but the amounts reported differed. (more…)
