But the Senate Budget (and Tax) Rumors are Ominous

Quick Take:

  • The word at the state Legislative Building is that the Senate could unveil its version of the 2008-’09 state budget as early as this week.
  • Unfortunately, Senate budget makers have been even more secretive than their House colleagues, so there’s no way to know for sure what the plan looks like.
  • Credible rumors, however, point to the likelihood of several backward steps. Let’s hope they’re inaccurate.
