N.C. Research Campus money in limbo

State money slated for the North Carolina Research Campus is still in the state budget while legislators work out differences for the upcoming fiscal year’s budget.
Rep. Jeff Barnhart of Concord said the $16.5 million proposed by the Senate is still in the budget and Andy Willis, vice president for government relations, said the House agreed to go along with Senate’s proposal.
The House proposed authorizing $1 million for the research campus.
But budget discussions are stalled over two taxes that are set to expire this year and Medicaid funding, Willis said. (more…)
