NC Justice Center 2008 Legislative Briefing

Raleigh — United Way of North Carolina, along with the NC Justice Center and the NC Budget & Tax Center, is hosting a discussion series covering the following state and local issues:
-What is happening in the state and local economy?
-How will the recently adopted two-year budget impact important state and local services?
-How will this years tax policy changes affect revenue in the long run?
-What is the revenue forecast for 2008 and will there be any money for programs?
-Updates on key policies that support low-income workers and their families such as the EITC, child care subsidies, children’s health insurance, and the move to make paid sick leave available to all NC workers.
