2008 HKonJ
Saturday, February 9th, 2008
By Chris Fitzsimon
Last year, the NC NAACP built a might coalition of 75 organizations that endorsed an anti-racism, anti-povety and antiwar People's Agenda. Over 5,000 of us (representing thousands more) marched to the Legislature on Jones Street, and HKonJ (Historic Thousands on Jones Street) was born.
We're just getting started! On Saturday, February 9th, thousands of us will meet at Chavis Park (505 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd) in Raleigh and then we'll go back to Jones Street.
If you believe….
…that all children deserve high quality education
…that all workers deserve a livable wage
…that racism must be addressed
…that the state should pursue election reform
…in affordable housing for all
…in abolishing the death penalty
…in fighting to save the environment
…in the right to carry on collective baraining
…in the rights of immigrants
…in health insurance for everyone
Then JOIN US! HKonJ is a Movement, not a Moment!
