Pat McCrory, candidate for the Republican nomination for governor:
North Carolinians have been hit particularly hard the past couple of decades. With the loss of our textile and furniture jobs, and now with the recent downturn in our economy, the citizens of North Carolina are calling upon their leaders to improve their economic future. For far too long, our governor has not created an environment for businesses to grow. Jobs are leaving the state and new companies don't have good reasons to move here. It is the governor's job to make sure that North Carolina has a competitive marketplace for not only North Carolina companies, but also for companies thinking about coming to our state. (more…)
