All of the allied policy organizations listed on this page are working to improve the quality of life in the state by convincing state leaders to make investments in the people and institutions of the state. Together we can find solutions to our most pressing public policy problems.

AARP in North Carolina

The APPCNC is a public-private partnership that assists individuals, groups, and communities in organizing and implementing programs to prevent adolescent pregnancy.
Council for Children

Organization’s mission is to preserve and defend the guarantees of individual liberty found in the North Carolina Constitution and the US Constitution, with particular emphasis on freedom of speech, freedom of association, freedom of religion, equal protection under law for all people, the right to privacy, the right to due process of law, and the right to be free from unreasonable search and seizure.
Equality North Carolina
Equality North Carolina is a statewide group dedicated to securing equal rights and justice for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people by effectively lobbying the General Assembly, executive branch, and local governments on issues like employment discrimination, hate violence, privacy rights, sexuality education, adoption, domestic partnership, HIV/AIDS, and more.

Student Action with Farmworkers

North Carolina Attorney General’s Office of Consumer Protection
Attorney General Roy Cooper’s Consumer Protection Division works to protect the public from unfair and deceptive business practices. Consumers who’ve been the victim of a fraud or scam can seek help from Consumer Protection specialists.
North Carolina Coalition for Responsible Lending
The Center for Responsible Lending is a nonprofit, nonpartisan research and policy organization dedicated to protecting homeownership and family wealth by working to eliminate abusive financial practices. CRL is affiliated with Self-Help, one of the nation’s largest community development financial institutions.
North Carolina Consumers Council
The North Carolina Consumers Council (NCCC) is a nonprofit organization representing consumers, both within and beyond the borders of North Carolina, and their interests as a whole. A partner of numerous statewide and national coalitions, NCCC’s mission is to raise consumer awareness, foster consumer education and promote consumer protection for everyone.

Families Against Mandatory Minimums
Organization with mission to challenge inflexible and excessive penalties required by mandatory sentencing laws, by promoting sentencing policies that give judges the discretion to distinguish between defendants and sentence them according to their role in the offense, seriousness of the offense and potential for rehabilitation.
North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence
Founded in 1981, NCCADV is community of agencies dedicated to serving battered women and children, and committed to building a society in which shared beliefs and institutions discourage domestic violence.
North Carolina Coalition Against Sexual Assault
The North Carolina Coalition Against Sexual Assault is an inclusive statewide alliance working to end sexual violence through education, advocacy, and legislation.
North Carolina Coalition for a Moratorium
North Carolina Coalition for a Moratorium supports a two-year suspension of executions while the North Carolina General Assembly enacts the necessary reforms to improve our criminal justice system.
North Carolinians Against Gun Violence
