Charters bill heard, but not voted upon

- in Legislative Watch

Barring some unforeseen development, the charter schools expansion/deregulation bill will not be heard on the House floor this afternoon. The bill took up the entire morning meeting of the House Finance Committee and was ultimately continued until tomorrow morning’s meeting at 8:30.

Rumors on the blog/tweetosphere are that it will be voted out of committee tomorrow and then heard on the House floor tomorrow afternoon and next Monday night.

Laura Leslie of WRAL has posted links to the proposed committee substitute and bill explanation at the bottom of this article.
